Biblical Counseling Works
I am not just a counselor who is a Christian — I am a Christian Counselor. This ministry is based on the Bible and how it applies to the problems of man. This ministry is to bring healing to the Christian community as well as the non-Christian community.
WHY A CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR? Christian Counseling Services believes that Christians should seek guidance and help from people who share their same Christian values (Proverbs 20:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18). Because Charley is a committed Christian, he will view the client’s problems, and their solutions, from a Biblical, Christian perspective.
I believe that God is willing to heal people (Matthew 8:3). God wants to heal the whole man: body, soul and spirit (John 7:23). Scripture brings healing in people’s lives (Psalm 107:20).
There are four emotional strongholds used by the devil to devour, destroy and detour people (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
These strongholds are:
Guilt (which is an emotional torment — Proverbs 28:17)
Fear (which is a snare –Proverbs 29:25)
Bitterness (which comes from ancient angers held in past sunset — Ezekiel 35:5; Ephesians 4:26-27)
Inappropriate self-esteem (either low or high). This inappropriate self-esteem (which is self-deception often taught by Satan — Galatians 6:3; 1 Corinthians 3:18).
These strongholds hinder people, preventing them from becoming what God wants them to be (Hebrews 12:1). They destroy relationships, come from negative past experiences, are taught by Satan through events and people, are used by Satan to control, have physical complications, have related behaviors and emotions, grow with time and are often mis-diagnosed or ignored by psychology.
Four promises in counseling
- Everything is for your good and healing
- Everything will be legally confidential
- Everything will be Scriptural
- God is invited and present in all counseling sessions
